Hi there,

I'm looking to speak to Bristol/South-West based bookkeepers who would be interested in taking on ad-hoc freelance bookkeeping work.

On the whole, my practice works with clients with startups and side projects. Clients include designers, crafters, fitness professionals and foodies. I love working with entrepreneurs, and having volunteered as a mentor with the Prince's Trust for a while I realised a lot of startups need friendly, affordable support to hold their hands through the numbers part of running a business.

I set up my practice this year to keep my mind occupied during maternity leave. I launched the business properly in April and the interest has been overwhelming, to the point I might need to turn work away. I'm aiming to have a well established business by the end of the year so I can go part time in my "real job" as an accountant working for a big bank. As such, I'd like to have one or two go-to bookkeepers who would be interested in taking on occassional work as I build my practice.

I'm looking for friendly bookkeepers with exceptional people skills, it's absolutely critical to me that I work with nice people who I can have a good chat with and who share my values. Attention to detail and experience using the main online accounting software are really important. I'm looking to work with people who are genuinely interested and enthusiastic about clients' businesses, and who have an interest in empowering clients - giving them the confidence to take care of their own bookkeeping if they want to. Experience of payroll and self assessment would also be a benefit.

At the moment I can't guarantee any regular work, but I hope this would change as my practice grows. I feel that this opportunity might suit other mums who have a few hours to spare here and there. Most of my correspondence with clients is by email, phone and skype.

If you'd be interested, please contact me with details of your qualifications, experience and hourly rate through the website butthebooks.co.uk.

Thanks very much, Zoe
