IR35

I have a prospective client who is a locum consultant Microbiologist mainly working for the NHS. She comes under the IR35 scheme.
She pays her tax PAYE.  There are periods at the end of her contracts when she isn't working. She is currently working in Northern Ireland.

I know of the IR35 scheme, but have no experience of it. Is there a lot of work involved with preparing and submitting self assessment? I assume it is only self assessment that has to be submitted to HMRC and that as an Associate bookkeeper I am authorised to do this for someone under IR35?

Can anyone give a ball park figure of how many hours work it should take to complete the self assessment?

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!
