Hi everyone,
I'd just like to put this out there, can I ask how many of you have actually sorted your software for MTD - I seem to be going around in a circle with it. I currently use Sage line 50 and was hoping that the MTD element would actually just be a 'bolt on' but the more I try and find out - the more confused I become. (I know I know, I can hear you all commenting on Sage but I suppose its what your used to.)
Most of the software companies seem to want you to pay a monthly fee for a cloud package but I prefer to 'buy outright' and then I know where I am. That's if they've got an MTD package at all. some seem to be still some way off being ready. I'm not panicking but would just like to be prepared for April 2019.
Any comments/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

My practice is Xero only, so we are 100% sorted for MTD.
Ultimately, it boils down to, whether the software provider is prepared to make their software MTD complaint or not and at what cost.
I am glad the technology advances such as MTD is clearing some dinosaur companies, far too long they have stopped invovating.
I think this is an excellent opportunity for us Bookkeepers, to approach our clients and say, they need to pay for the monthly licenses if they want modern compliant software.
All my clients pay for the Xero subscription, I am 100% transparent about this and keep it separate in my quote. Don't make the mistake of including it in your fees.
If prospective clients are the types that complain about the subscription price, I won't take them on, and funny enough they are the same clients that are happy to pay £5 for an exotic coffee everyday!
