I have a self-employed client with an osteopathic practice. All parties that work within the practice are registered self-employed, but my client would like the trade to pay for Safeguarding training for them all, due to the nature of the work with 'children and vulnerable adults'.
My client is very particular when it comes to matters relating to tax and HMRC, so, if possible, I'd like to be able to show her specific legislation or BIM references.
Q.1 Is the expense legitimate and tax-deductible ?
Before the end of 2018, the client is to cease the sole-trade and form a limited company. She will become a director/employee, one of the sub-contractors will become a non-director/employee, all other sub-contractors will continue as they are currently.
Q.2 How will this change the situation with regard paying for training for all parties ?
Thank you in advance, Wil
