Devon COPE Network

Hi All,

Myself and a fellow ICB Bookkeeper are looking to create a Devon COPE network for like minded sole practitioners in the area.

The aim of the network is to have in place a solution that will assist bookkeepers to support their clients in light of an event that prevents normal service from continuing such as ill health.

We are looking to grow the group to at least 5 members to allow for a single bookkeeper to provide cover for at least one day a week if needed, and also in the worst case, facilitate client handover should this be required.

We are aiming to meet at the end of January 2019 in a location that is suitable and fair to all and would welcome anybody who is interested to contact us via info@exebookkeeping.com or telephone 01395 320316.

Very happy to answer any questions anyone may have!

Jaye

Hi Jaye

This is an excellent idea and something i have been thinking about for my area (City of London).

I am going to raise it at the next branch meeting I attend.

Good luck!

Best, Claire

Hello,

I think this is a great idea and I would like to join you if you will have me.

I am part time and work alone. I live in Bovey Tracey and my clients are in Newton Abbot.

I have three clients that I visit for one morning a week and work at their premises general bookkeeping to TB. One client I see once a month to collect paperwork which I take home to process and I also do his EOY and SA very straightforward sole trader. Then I have two clients I just do EOY and SA.

That's it!

I would be able to fill in for another part time bookkeeper or maybe take over a single client for a short period? I don't have that much slack in my week but I could manage another half day or more if it could be done from home and of course it would depend on how long for?

And it would be great to know that my clients can be looked after if anything befalls me - especially my three regulars.

If I am too part-time for you never mind I understand and wish you luck.

Otherwise, I would like to meet with you in January.

Hi Donna,

Thanks for replying to the post - you are definately not too part time at all, it's all about the common goal and even if it is just a few hours it's a big help all round!

You are certainly more than welcome to attend the meeting, details are still being finalised but I'll be sure to post when this is happening - look forward to meeting you Smile

Kind Regards,

Jaye

Hi Caryl,

Thank you for the information regarding the next branch meeting, it's certainly something I am always mindful of attending but often find difficult, as per our discussion at the summit.

I'm also working with other bookkeepers from outside the immediate catchment area so the forum provides the next best thing to being able to attend branch meetings.

If of course any interest is raised at the next meet, anyone is more than welcome to make contact.Smile

Kind Regards,

Jaye

“Hi - this is something which we have discussed at the Branch meetings. May I suggest you try to attend the next meeting which will be held on 11 February - invites will be sent out nearer the time.”

 Hi Caryl,

Where will I be able to find information about the next Branch Meeting.  I have completed Levels 2,3 & 4 and I am just starting up my new Bookkeeping Business so it would be great to chat to fellow colleagues.

Warm Regards

Stuart.
