Tax on PAYE expenses

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to claim the tax back on an employee's expenses, he's been paid a accommodation allowance and a mileage allowance but been paid these through his wages so therefore taxed on them. I thought that would of been right through benefit of kind but my friend assures me her partner normally gets to claim the tax back on these. He's PAYE not self employed.

Does anyone know the answer?

Thanks

Sally
