Hello,

I need to start reconciling my client's bank account (QuickBooks Online) from 01/03/19 but the bank account has transactions going as far back as 2016 and the bank account has never been reconciled. When I go to the reconcile page it says the beginning balance is 0 but I need it to say the amount as of 28/02/19 How do I do this, please?

 Hi Jill,

I don't think you can change the opening balance figure as it pulls it in from the last reconciliation you did.  You may have to tick off all the transactions from 2016 until 28/2/19 and maybe write off any difference as at the end of Feb as long as it is small.  Do you know why the bank account hasn't been reconciled since 2016?

There is a method of recording the opening balance on QB but it does depend on which version you are using. What version are you using ?
