Good afternoon and Happy Easter / Holiday to all,

I would like some guiddance please :-). 

Have two questions may be three that are unclear to me. Have been employed as an assistant accountant for the past 4 years doing all the bookkeeping,  have set up a practise recently as employer not taking on any more clients and folding slowly.

1 - One of the clients is happy to move over and I wanted to know what are the steps for the transition, do I treat them as a new client or else!

2 - A friend who is an accountant has offered me a contract as free lance bookkeeper, again what are the steps! should the contact be from her or do I write a letter of engagement.

Hi Rania

Mike wolud be the first one to tell you , even doing the book for your best friend isn't a reason to trust, same goes for someone you worked for for years.

You should do a letter of engagement  and go through the MLR procedure for whoever pay your bill for every client you have and be confident you are happy with the work you are doing
