Hello, hoping I can get some advice.
I passed AAT Level 3 NVQ in 2009. My current employer is about to retire and I am looking at options to become a self employed bookkeeper. I have been working as a bookkeeper in my current role for 6 years.
From reading both AAT and ICB sites I do not think I qualify for exemptions as my qualification is too old. AAT do not recognise it to become AATQB so I would need to take AAT Bookkeeping Advanced.
My employer is a one man band and I don't think he would qualify to be a reference for work experience though I am wondering if the Accountant I produce our accounts for would be able to do this?
Please, any advice as to the best route to take to be self employed. I am willing to learn from home and have just bought all the AAT Foundation Bookkeeping books to get up to speed on format of learning, exams etc as it has been a long time since I last studied.
Any advice gratefully received. Thank you for reading
