Resignation is a difficult task

I retired from work on 30th June.  My renewal date is 31st August and I am aware that a month's notice is required so on 26th July I filled in Form CSP1-2020 Cessation of Membership and sent it as a paper letter to the relevant address.

I heard nothing.

Last week I sent a chaser email and heard not a peep back.

Today I received a chaser for my annual subscription.

I have returned an immediate email saying that I consider myself to have resigned, I am not working and am a pensioner.  I will not and cannot afford to renew and it would be utterly pointless - my acitivities consist of caring for my invalid husband, cooking and cleaning.  None of these activities require any bookkeeping skills!

Be warned - if you ever want to resign or cease your membership - it's hard work!

Dear Chickie,

I am sorry you did not receive confirmation of receipt of the declaration form.  I understand a colleague will be in touch today to confirm that your resignation will be processed on the date requested on your form.

 Kind regards

Lucy
