Audit of Charity accounts - income around £35k

Hi,

I'm a new member and wanted to ask some advice please?

I have been asked by a local school to audit their private fund accounts and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do that? Their income is roughly £35k. They are asking that I produce a report for the Charity Commission website, again I'm not sure if that's something I'm allowed to do?

Any advice would be really welcome.

Thanks,

Sam

You can do an Independent Examination - which is probably what they want . Small charities often ask for Audit when it is the IE that they mean.

If you go to the Charity Commission website it will give you all the information you need.

There is no official requirement for any qualification to do an IE for that size of charity.

However, if you are being asked to do this because you are a bookkeeper, then for ICB purposes you need to have Level 3 and a practice licence.
