Information
Our own City of London Branch member Tony Reissner MICB, will be leading a discussion, sharing experiences, and asking others for their experiences of implementing accounting software.
Tony is a Director of Whitegate Computing Limited, a cloud accounting software and services company and has over 30 years’ experience in the implementation of accounting software.
This presentation will be appropriate to self-employed bookkeepers with smaller clients and to bookkeepers employed by larger organisations.
We will be looking at the marketplace and discussing why organisations might change their systems and what barriers to change may exist. We will also review an example system implementation strategy and example project plan.
As this meeting is designed to be participative, for those that wish to contribute, Tony has suggested that it may be helpful for participants to think about and jot down some thoughts on the following questions:
1. Why would an organisation think about changing their accounting system?
2. What barriers to change have you come across?
3. What happens if there is no project plan?
4. What are the benefits of having a plan?
5. What are the traits of a good Project Manager?
6. What ideas do you have on how to document a client's current process?
7. What sort of questions can you ask to identify a client’s objectives and constraints when implementing a new system?
8. What could be potential constraints in undertaking data migration across different platforms?
The webinar can accommodate questions via the question box and put to the Branch Chair at the end of the presentation.
