Bookkeepers and businesses right across the world are coming together to celebrate Global Bookkeeping Week 2022 between 7 and 11 November.

GBW celebrates the profession and the vital work bookkeepers do to support micro and small businesses on a global scale. All the way from Melbourne to Manila, bookkeepers will be taking part in coffee mornings, meet-ups, webinars, and the Bookkeepers Summit, to celebrate the crucial work that they do around the world.

Once again you can join the popular Global Bookkeepers Coffee Meet-up, this year taking place on Wednesday 9 November. We're causing a media sensation with thousands of bookkeepers across the world getting involved through social media. This year is your chance to join in with your peers in ‘raising a cup’ to your profession, and there will be plenty of prizes for the best picture! Some of the best from last year are pictured here, so as you can see the competition is pretty fierce!

  • Global Bookkeeping Week is supported by ICB's offices around the world including New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, the Philippines, India, UK, Ireland and the USA. #GlobalBookkeepingWeek is a celebration of bookkeepers and how they benefit people, businesses, communities and our economy.

What can I do? 

  • RAISE A CUP on Wednesday 9th at ICB's Global Coffee Meetup and online at the Bookkeepers Summit. Share your selfies on social media! Join us in raising a cup of coffee (or tea, or....) for bookkeepers across the world. If you're an ICB member or student you may be able to attend a coffee morning hosted by your local branch to show your solidarity and love for your profession. If you can't attend a coffee morning, tweet a selfie from your home office, desk, kitchen table, or even client's office. Whether you’re with bookkeepers, at a college, in the Shard, or out and about, post your selfies using #GlobalBookkeepingWeek and #RaiseACup and include our twitter handle @ICBUK

  • Book your ticket for the Bookkeepers Summit taking place online during GBW and offering two days of learning, inspiration and networking. Tweet about why you're attending the annual #BookkeepersSummit and what it means to be #NotjustabookkeeperanICBBookkeeper

  • Speak to people in your network about ICB bookkeepers

  • Share your own bookkeeping success stories 

  • Talk about what you're doing to support, train, employ, work as, or become a bookkeeper. Fly the flag for bookkeepers as the future of a strong economy

  • Post on your website, blog, social media channels or send a piece to Accounting Web, Accountancy Age, PQ Magazine, or your favourite business press

With ICB apprenticeships offering a funded route into the bookkeeping profession for the first time, and 30-40 new ICB practices starting up each month, there's never been a better time to celebrate bookkeepers. Every post counts!

Global Bookkeeping Week history 

Global Bookkeeping Week started in 2015 to celebrate bookkeepers and raise the profile of the profession; putting the spotlight on our dedication and support for small businesses.

In 2018 Garry Carter, ICB President and Co-Founder, kicked off a 24-hour global webinar in London. He was joined on the webinar by members across the UK and connected with ICB New Zealand President, Di Crawford-Errington. The baton was passed to ICB Australia, back to the UK and then to ICB USA. A truly global event!

 

We've also attended Accounting Live in years past, enjoying the company of ICB bookkeepers and Bookkeepers Summit sponsors as they visited our stand!

Raise a Cup day takes place on Wednesday of GBW and sees coffee meet-ups across the world. UK meet-ups took place in London, Lincoln, East Sussex, Oxford, Surrey and North Yorkshire. Members who could not attend meet-ups took to social media to share their #RaiseACup photos.
