Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Business Part 1 – an introduction to MTD for VAT: From April 2019, VAT registered entities with a taxable turnover above the VAT registration threshold must keep VAT records digitally and file their VAT returns using MTD compatible software. If you are new to MTD, this session is a great place to start. We will recap the information covered in previous sessions on record keeping, using software, joining the pilot and getting a new agent services account.

This session follows on from Making Tax Digital for Business Part 1. It will go into more detail on record keeping, using software, joining the pilot and getting a new agent services account. How to show self-employed business expenses on your tax return: This digital webinar has been designed to provide guidance on what is and isn’t classed as an allowable business expense and will include motoring and premises costs. HMRC subject matter experts will be online during the meeting to take your questions.

Cryptoassets (also known as cryptocurrencies) and HMRC: Cryptoassets (of which bitcoin is the most well-known) continue to evolve and capture the public attention. Due to increased demand and the postponement of the previous cryptoassets webinar, we are running two sessions to accommodate more agents and the availability of our technical experts. - points on the taxation of cryptoassets
- the view of cryptoassets from a HMRC perspective and consideration of how the current tax rules apply.

Income from property for individual landlords – changes introduced by Finance Act 2, 2017: A comprehensive look at two measures introduced by Finance Act 2, 2017:-
- the cash basis for property businesses (from the 2017-18 tax year, the cash basis will be the default basis for most property businesses that are run by individuals)
- the property allowance tax exemption of up to £1,000 a year for individuals with income from land or property.

Addressing non-compliance with the off-payroll working rules in the private sector – next steps: The government will introduce reform to increase compliance with the off-payroll working rules (commonly known as IR35) in the private sector. This webinar will:
- provide an overview of the off-payroll working rules and the background to this reform
- an overview of the education and support that HMRC is developing to help customers and tax advisers implement these changes
- outline the timeline towards April 2020.

Income from property for individual landlords – common themes in relation to deductions and reliefs: This webinar will be concentrating on 3 areas that generate regular contact with HMRC:
- restricting finance cost relief for individual landlords
- replacement of domestic items relief
- overview of what needs to be considered when deciding whether the cost of ‘repairs’ is allowable as a deduction.
