Receive support from another member through the ICB Member Buddy Programme

The support of fellow bookkeepers is a key component of ICB membership and members can take advantage of access to the network via the forum and branch meetings.

ICB’s ‘Buddy Programme’ has been set up to build upon the supportive nature of ICB membership and offer a more formal route to gaining hands-on, personalised support. The programme will help members foster strong relationships within the community that may even lead to trusted working partnerships in the future.

The role of the buddy is to give general guidance and support, and to share experience and knowledge.

Participation in the scheme is optional.

ICB will facilitate the Buddy Programme with a web page / portal link where members can register their interest as a volunteer to buddy another member looking for support.

Whilst ICB will help facilitate the relationship, it does not accept responsibility for any guidance or advice given.

You can access three different levels of  buddy:

  • A Student buddy

someone who has just qualified with recent knowledge of study and exams to support you as a student

  • A Start-Up buddy

someone who has been in business for 6-12 months and can support you as a newly- qualified member looking to start a practice

  • A Practice buddy

someone who has been in business for more than 12 months and can support you as a member that has just started their practice within recent months.
