This month the webinars cover several useful topics for those studying or updating knowledge on self assessment including change of basis dates!!
With the 31 January 2018 deadline for final submission of any 2016-17 self assessment tax returns looming ever more quickly, this month's HMRC tax webinars look to be particularly useful. The webinars are easy to join, and there are opportunities for participants to ask plenty of questions.
From filing a tax return online, to organising business expenses, HMRC have got it covered with an extensive range of specially selected webinars.

Note: this month in particular has some really useful webinars if you are studying for the Level III Diploma in Self Assessment Tax Returns and the first one (7 December) covers basis dates which candidates often find quite difficult to understand. They might also act as a useful revision if you have clients for whom you have to submit a return very soon!
Basis Periods - looking at commencement years, changes to accounting date and overlapping periods: Focusing on basis periods, in particular looking at the different rules that apply to commencement years, changing of accounting date and overlapping periods. We also look at some pointers when dealing with a change from sole trader to partnership and vice versa.

Income from property minimising the risk for individuals: These meetings will be dealing specifically with expenses and deductions, allowances and reliefs. Including repairs, the relief for the replacement of domestic items and the restrictions to Income Tax relief for finance costs.

Capital allowances and vehicles: These meetings mainly cover the special rules for cars.
