To VAT or not to VAT

Hello

I am just about to start mailshotting businesses in my area in the hope of getting my business up and running.

Obviously I won't be VAT registered, but some of the potential clients will be.

Can anybody advise on how to advertise the rate?  With VAT split out, with "including VAT" after the figure?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Sandra

Because you are not vat registered you advertise your rate just as it is without mentioning VAT.

Even if you get VAT registered clients they cant claim any VAT back from HMRC because they didn`t
pay any over to you.

Good Luck

Thanks Steve

That is what I thought, but didn't know whether I should point out that the rate is what it is without having to add vat - just pre-empting the questions really.

I shall go with the not mentioning it option

Thanks again
