I was thinking of taking payroll classes but the course fees are too high. Even I would like to know what's the best way to revise for Payroll management exam.

Contact the HMRC as see if they will let you go to their free courses for PAYE and NI etc - I went on them years ago and they really were the best courses out there.  I should imagine they still are :-)

Hi All,

Funny Liz you mentioned the HMRC workshops - I went on the How VAT works today. (some of the course material was slightly out of date and I am not taking about the rate). It was very good and reinforced many things I have been reading for my Level II.  I am already booked on the employer one but not until late June. They have a number of PAYE courses - AND NIKKI best of all the are Free.

See www.hmrc.gov.uk/bst for the list of courses - I would phone them up. I called them on Friday and I went on the 2 1/2 hour work course today. The site also gives you a list of locations around the country.

That's what I used to pass as well as the HMRC website. I purchased a course from a provider and even now I don't understand it (I do its just the way it was structured doesn't make sense), the Sage study books were much more informative, they (well do in mine) tell how you its done manually. ICB didn't have a mock available when I did it!

Good luck.
