Ledger books / loose leaf - recommendations needed

What paper books or sheets have people found the best.

I've got a new client who wants it done manually as he doesn't have a computer at his prmeises (it's a small Italian restaurant), so I was thinking that if I do it the old-fashioned way with pen & paper it saves any hassle of me printing it off etc & it's all kept in one place.

I have a WHSmith Ledger book that I used for some little bits, but was wondering what other products are out there, as a loose leaf version that can be filed may be easier. Any recommendations would be gratefully recieved.

Thanks,
LJ

I got one from Ryman's the other day for £1.99.  I have had a bit of trouble finding ledger books/paper myself.  Nobody stocks it in my home town - had to travel to salisbury but struggled to find them there too.

Hi LJ,

Have you tried Amazon? They have quite a few loose leaf and book versions.

Why don't you just design them yourself in Excel and print them off as and when required? Using a laser printer and the thinner lines in Excel it can look reasonably neat.

Staples also do them in all shapes and sizes.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I got some Twinlock Crown loose leaf sheets. They look pretty good & means I don't have to worry about different books for different ledgers & just have it all in one folder.
I might look at designing my own once I run out, but seeing as printer has been working overtime printing off all the HMRC tax guidelines, I'm going to give it a rest for a bit.

James- there's probably not that many people that use ledger books anymore, but for a company this size & without a computer/email on site, I thought this would be easier. I quite like the manual way anyway as I spend most of my day in front of a computer.

Hi James,

Regarding this paper books or sheets for manual bookkeeping, can we have a template saved so we can download when we need it? A Scanned copy of any currently used would help. We could just design our own form it.

I do not believe there is a high demand for it but it would be helpful.

Kind Regards,

xxx

Hi Everyone,

I am revisiting this post and reiterating a demand for a paper books or sheet.

As anybody got a scanned copy they can share?

James i have not heard since i suggested to have a template uploaded onto ICB site.

Would you mind looking into this?

Thanks,

Nathaliexxx
