Hi Chanty, I am not sure I follow all the ins and out of your forum discussion as I do not know about ideal schools and what has been paid for and what hasn't.

What I would say is that, having recently done the level I exam, I would highly recommend doing the mock online exam. It gives you a real feel of the type of questions, how to answer them and in my case most importantly the time.  When I was doing the Mock I had a slight feeling of panic as even though I knew how much time I had left I didn't know how long the questions would take. After the Mock I realised that the 2 hours is plenty. I took an hour to answer and check thoughly all my answers.

You can buy (£10) the mock exam at level I at http://www.bookkeepers.org.uk/Shop/Category/Past_Papers_Online/Level_I_Certificate_in_Basic_Bookkeeping

You can take in any time within 28 days of purchasing it and it is very similar to the real thing.

I imagine that you would have to login to ICB so it is against your name.
I found the whole process very smooth.
Any problems I suggest you call Ideal Schools or ICB if you cannot purchase it online.

GOOD LUCK, we all routing for you. tell us how you get on.

Hi Chanty

Ideal schools only provide you with a paper version of the mock exam so you would have to buy the online mock from the icb shop.If you are confident enough with your skills and you passed your paper mock exam then you should book yourself for the real exam but if you do not feel confident enough then i suggest you buy the mock from the icb shop and see how you get on with it.

Hope this helps and good luck Smile

Hi Chanty
I'm also a student with Ideal Schools and I've literally just sat the actual Online Paper.
I sat the Online Mock Examination last Thursday.
You need to call Ideal Schools to arrange their funding of the Mock Paper, which "should be" free but talk it over with them to confirm.
Unfortunately, however, the actual exam is not funded by Ideal Schools.
This has a charge of £30 Sterling and you deal directly with ICB for this.
I hope this helps.
I will review this forum to see if you have any further problems, though if you follow the instructions everything should be OK.

Hello Chanty,

From the end of Feb this year, Ideal Schools made the decision to cover the cost of one online practice paper, per level, for our own students. This is in addition to the traditional manual styled past papers, where we provide valuable final feedback.

To order your online practice paper you do need to call ICB and their team will then invoice us for the cost.

I hope your studies are going well.

Kind regards

Chanty,

Who are you studying with? You should be able to contact your tutor(s) to discuss any aspects of your course work and get some exam advice.

Now that you know what to expect, I'm sure your next attempt or actual exam will gomuch better.

Kind regards
Brian
