It's time to introduce myself!

Hiya,
My name's Nicky and I've been visiting the forum regularly for well over a month now. so far I've found it to be very helpful and interesting and decided that it's time I become a bit more involved!

I passed my level II Manual bookkeeping back in February, obtained my practice licence in March and am currently looking for that FIRST client. In the meantime I've been doing a lot of research into how I want my website etc to look.

I'm about to embark on the Payroll course & have decided on the SAGE self study (suggested by this forum!) distance course. I did my other courses with Home Learning who were very good but expensive. I only used the tutors for help once so though I could perhaps manage this one on my own and save myself over £1000.

I live in the East Grinstead area so if anyone knows of any local groups please let me know.
thanks
Nicky

Hi Nicky!

I've started my SAGE payroll course just few weeks ago. I don't realy find it difficult all though I am new to payroll.

You'll be fine, just start the course and you'll finish it that easy.

Have good day!

Hi Nicky!

I'm also in EG. I came across your website yesterday and was puzzled ;-D

Good luck in your quest to find the first client. Perhaps visiting Brian at Tax Assist would help. Also have a look in the local rag - although don't approach the Golf Club "Experienced Bookkeeper" advert, as they're looking for employed staff.

Perhaps we can meet for coffee soon to talk over clients and tactics.

Best of luck

Helen x

Hi James
No I haven't received an info pack yet but then I only received the MLR manual a couple of weeks ago!! Perhaps it's on its way.

Hi Helen,
Do you mean my other website,  I haven't set up the bookkeeping one yet!!
As soon as I've got my business cards printed (correctly this time - all my own fault) I'll be hitting the network groups. The free ones to start with.

Thanks for the tips and yes I'd love to meet up for coffee and a chat sometime

All the best
Nicky

Hi Nicky

I haven't been on there for ages, can't remember the log-ins! I'll text you instead (but by the time you'll read this, we'll have arranged it).

Helen.
