I wondered if  someone can give me some ideas  how much to charge to run a payroll for approximately 19 staff fornightly. I'm using Payroll Manager.

Many thanks

I'm currently trying to figure out how much to charge for payroll - I'm doing it in bands, 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, over 30 to be determined. I will be pricing it per payslip and this will be all-inclusive. I mean it will include the setting up, each payroll run, starters and leavers, P35 and P60's.

My problem at the moment is it works out cheaper to have 11 employees than 10. And it works out cheaper to have 21 employees than 20.

I have a client who has quite a lot leavers and joiners each month, they are all on casual contracts. In the end to we decided to do it on a fixed fee, 1 month a 1/3 of the staff were leavers!!

I'll list what I was considering. Now, bear in mind, I haven't advertised these prices so have no idea whether any potential clients would consider them reasonable.

For weekly clients I was considering :
01-10 £1.50
11-20 £1.25
21-30 £1.00

For monthly clients I was considering
01-10 £2.00
11-20 £1.75
21-30 £1.50

Maybe others can decide whether I have a snowballs chance in hell of getting these.

Hi Peasie and all - I've just discussed this with a client who uses the payroll service from the Chartered Accountants

They are charging £6.00 per payslip although it used to be £6.75 (think they dropped price after being under pressure from client).

Another client was paying £4.00 a payslip to an accountant up till apr 2011.

I'm just about to start doing a payroll (once I can afford my payroll upgrade) And will be charging £2.50 for weekly, £3.00 for fortnightly pay and £5.00 for monthly.

Appears to be the going rate around the North Lanarkshire area......

Cheers

Liz

Hi All

I have always struggled to compete on outsourced basis for payroll alone I find it a very useful value added service when selling my service to the client i.e. I can do your payroll whilst I am on site at no additional charge (apart from the hourly fees I am charging to be here).

There are too manyu companies offering payroll at silly price like £1 a payslip.

Cheers
Stuart
