Hi. I have just completed & passed level 1 manual bookkeeping & level 2 computerised bookkeeping using sage. Does anybody have any advice on how I can now get some practical experience. I am looking for work at the moment & all the jobs advertised require experience of sage etc. I'm not stupid & am a quick learner but I just need to get "a foot in the door". Any ideas??

Hi H Sharp

Try contacting local charities to see if they require some voluntary help. Be aware that as a student you need to have all your work supervised so ideally look for a role where you will supporting the treasurer rather than being the treasurer.

Also be aware of how you present yourself the funny thing is no-one ever thinks of themselves as being stupid so why put that in your post.

Other wise contact local accountants and ICB practices.
