Hi

Liz mentioned this when answering a question on vat and bad debt and it got me thinking whether there are any other "strange but true" facts on bookkeeping

Hehe - delved in to the tax court case about clothing for TV presenters  - it was fascinating and the court ruled that the presenter could not claim for clothes expenses for presenting even though she tried to prove that she wouldn't wear them in normal everyday life.  There was some suggestion of her going nude at one point.

My son asked the other day for some reason whether there was VAT on cows...lol  Anyway, whilst looking that up.....(yes I really did)....I discovered that there was VAT on honey bees but not on bumble bees.  (Not sure who would want to buy bumble bees).
