I will be using software for my level 2 exam that has previously been used. Some of the Nominal Accounts have had name changes and new Accounts have also been opened. Will I be marked down if I have to open new Nominal Accounts if I cannot find what I consider to be an appropriate account because of previous changes.

If you go into file/maintenance/rebuild and deselect everything and select general business standard accounts and click ok it will rebuild the standard nominal codes for you.

Hi,

If you go to File → Maintenance → Rebuild → and there untick the box 'Keep my nominal account records' then you will have Sage default nominal codes back.

Hope that helps,

Hi sjb,

I have been thinking the same question while I was doing the Level II computerised exam reports. I just checked the COA all the time and tried to identify which the item belongs to in there and set up nominal code, which I considered to be appropriate, and I think this makes sense. However I also find it useful to do the back up at every end of your questions, so you can always go back the exact point where you think you made a mistake. I used Sage 50.

Hope this helps.
Anna
