Hmm I believe this means cheques that have been "lodged" in the bank account but not yet cleared but I stand to be corrected!

Hi Acorn

There are two ways money is receipted into your bank account

1)  money put into your bank directly from another bank account  .  ie transfer from other business account of the business  b) and Bacs receipts also now seen as DPC TSU on  from your customers /Debtors bank statements

2) Lodgements are money that is lodged at a bank branch over the counter or fast lodgements at the bank .  These are made up of Cash and Cheques.  They are still referred to as lodgements regardless even when they have cleared through the bank.
