I've tried to answer a few messages on this forum, but it's frustating when you're halfway through typing a message the page refreshes and your message dissapears.

It doesn't seem to matter what browser I use so must be something to do with the website - can this be changed?

There are quite few intersting threads but sometimes you have to careful what you reply so it doesn't get out of hand. This isn't helped if you know a clock is ticking and your words are about to dissapear at any momen

Mike

I never have that good fortune, all of my posts get through!!

Seriously - I use IE on a laptop. There are problems on iPad and iPhone because they don't have flash.

Also I found that I couldnt post a reply by logging in through the link on an email message, I have to go directly through IE to the ICB home page and log in that way.

On a separate subj.......Laughing

I am using a laptop (running windows7) and it doesn't seem to matter if I use IE, Firefox or Chrome- after a few minutes the page refreshes and any text in a reply dissapears and I am redirected back to the message thread.

Usually there is suuficent time to compose a reply and post it, but like I say it doesn't help if you are trying to carefully choose your words so as not enflame a thread. Could post it every few mins and then edit, but that could lead to trouble if someone got upset by a partial message not realisng there was more or you were still editing it.

I have had to edit loads of times because of the problem   .   Going Going Gone Go.............................

A couple of solutions - rather than type your reply in the box, if you know it will be a long reply, open up Notepad and write it in there. Then when finished, copy and past into the box on the forum. Although that will likely open up another box as this forum doesn't like you pasting things direct, you have to paste them in a box first.

Another idea is at the end of every sentence in a long reply, hit  "Ctrl    A" to select what you have written, then "Ctrl   C" to copy it. If the page refreshes it's just a case of "Ctrl   V" to paste the latest copied text.

The box jumping up and down is annoying at times if it's what I'm thinking of - although as soon as you start typing it will be where you left off (even if the box has gone elsewhere).

Hi James

The problem when following a link in an email notification is not with logging in it is when, having compiled the message and pressed submit the response comes up "please enter some text" or something similar.

Hi James

Yes it is IE9.

I have IE installed and also my old faithful AOL. If I use the AOL browser there are no problems but the link from email sends me to IE9 and I can't post.

Some might say keep uisng IE9!!
