Hello to everyone,

I would like some advice on having no bookkeeping working history.

I have been unfortunate to have no bookeeping working history, and I would like to know from someone who has been in my situation who has succeeded to attraching their first client, and I would like to know how long as well as the top tool (referrals, window advertising etc) for attracing their first client.

I am starting out and I am still waiting to attrach my first client. I am advertising via shop windows at the moment and I am looking to do mail shots in the near future.

Please can anyone suggest other advertising tools or relevant and beneficial information to helping me on my quest to the first client?

Kind regards

David

Hi David

There is no quick fix and no simple solution for attracting clients. Gone are the days when people will walk in off the street.

Consider doing on or more of the following:
website
Google adwords
Online directories: eg Yell.com Thomson Local etc

Also get out there and network. This is the best way to let other business owners and professionals what services you are offering

Kind regards

Hi David

I would also suggest that you spend some time setting up a website (there are various free ones available) and then use Google Adwords.  This is what I did, and it got me all my regular clients - with no previous experience, just my qualifications.  Each told me they found me via Google, and came to me because I am a certified bookkeeper.

It may be a long wait to get your first client - but the wait is worth it.  I have regular clients, and so a regular income.  Also, as my clients found me via the internet, they communicate with me via email, and pay electronically - it make life so much easier!

Hello Lucy,

Thank you for your reply. I have a website, however, Google Adwords could possibly be the answer.

Kind regards

David
