I've just applied for my practice licence and have started thinking about the things I need to do to set up (planning for 1 October).

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to create a logo cheaply?

I understand money can be tight when setting up, but a logo isn't something to be scrimped on.  Your logo is probably the first thing potential clients will see.  You want it to say your reliable, professional and trustworthy.  You don't want it to say cheap and that you don't care.

Spend a little getting a logo designed, you'll be thankful in the long term.  The alternative of course is not to use a logo.

I can highly recommend peopleperhour.com for very talented graphic designers charging very little. Basically you post up your requirements and then providers bid for the work, giving you past portfolios and CV's etc.

This is the listing I put up for my job: https://www.peopleperhour.com/freelance_jobs_work_projects/Logo-design-for-bookkeeping-business/41443

Logo

My name is Bruton Young and the business is called Bruton Young Bookkeeping

Logo with text

The guy I used on there was called Thomas Likeman and he is absolutely wonderful. He tweaked the design a few times for me and provided 6 different designs for me to choose from, all for the princely sum of £45 (oh and that included a logo for my husbands design business too!)

Hi All

First of all Clare your logo is brilliant - loving it.

I Hope you dont ind but i stole your text and put an advert up myself. I am already registered on people per hour and find the site incredibly easy to use, but for some reason never thought of posting a 'wanted' ad.

Thanks for the advise...

Good luck

Thanks for the suggestions, I do like the look of your logo Clare, very eye catching. 25poundlogos looks worth a try too.

Kirstey - I don't mind at all you using my text. If Thomas Likeman responds then he is very good and I can personally recommend him, otherwise you can search him out and invite him to bid.

I too love my logo but as I'm now pregnant the letters B tend to make me think of large pregnant ladies bellies than the B's in my company name Laughing
