HI
THIS MIGHT JUST BE A DUNMB QUESTION BUT I NEED HELP
SAGE BANK REC.

I WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE ITEMS ON THE SAGE BANK ACOUNT IS NOT ON THE BANK STATEMENT?ITSELF? HOW IS THE RECONCILLIATION DONE? I KNOW HOW TO DO IT MANUALLY, BUT NOT WITH SAGE.

Am doing a bank rec, between the bank statement and the sage bank account.
I have matched all that appears in the bank statement (eg barlclays statement that also appears in the sage bank account).

There are stuff that are in my sage bank that's not on the barclay statement. how do i proceed from there?


the sage tutorial is not covering that area.

In manual bookkeeping is

balance per bank statement 
less unpresented cheque
add outstanding logement 

In sage after matching whats on both statements (sage bank account and the bank statement) what happens with the unpresented cheques, or cheques thats not cleared yet? how do one complete the bank rec?

am even getting confused in trying to explain it sorry

Once you have matched all of the items on your Barclays bank statement to the items on the sage bank account, the difference at the bottom right hand side of the page should show £0.00.

If this is the case click on the button 'reconcile' and the system will 'file' all of these transactions so that only un-matched transactions still show up next time you go to reconcile.

The process of matched item balance less unpresented cheques  plus logements should still apply.  If there are transactions in your Sage bank balance that should not have gone through that bank account then they have been posted using the wrong bank account - these can be corrected through corrections.
