Help M-Day and examination results confused

Hi there,

I am hoping someone can give me clarification on something.  I submitted my computerised examination and it was confirmed received on 29th September.

As I have therefore not received the result yet what implications does this mean?

I have Level I & II manual passed already and am an AICB member.

Any help/clarification would be excellent.

You will remain a member until the exam is marked. It will only be a problem if you fail the exam in which case you may need to downgrade your membership to Affiliate until such time as you pass the exam. So don't worry until the exam has been marked. Best to check the results page every hour of every day until it is marked. It's nearly three weeks since they received it so it really could be marked any day now.

Hi Gemma
This is not official but some of our Students/ICB Members have asked ICB for an extension of time for various reasons and up to now I believe this has been granted. In your case I am pretty sure they wouldnt downgrade you given that you are waiting for your result, and if you were to fail the exam I am sure you would be allowed some extra time for some revision and a re-sit.

ICB are not trying to downgrade members, they are simpy trying to improve on the knowledge and skills of all ICB Bookkeepers. It was obvious for a long time that many AICB and MICB members had taken the computerised path, which unfortunately hadnt provided enough theory and technical knowledge. M Day is all about improving on what an ICB Bookkeeper has to offer in order to benefit them in their careers, and not to benefit the ICB as it seems to be generally viewed. I must admit that I had mixed thoughts to begin with but it makes a lot of sense now.

I agree with what Gary says. I've been trying to do book my level III manual all this year without any luck getting a time to fit in with mursery drop off and pick up. I have informed the ICB about how difficult it is and now discovered the test centre is only open a couple of days a week and then on different days each week. It is now booked, as I don't think I will get a time to fit in with nursery but has cost me a fortune in childcare!

Getting worried now that I have failed as everyone else seems to get theirs results after 3 weeks and my estimated result day is 28th OctoberFrown
I know I shouldn't be so negative I thought the exam had gone well and at the time I was fairly confident but having spent the last few days checking every hour I am getting myself in a right state...

pointless reply really but has anyone else had theirs take more than the suggested 3 weeks and still passed?

Thanks

If you thought the exam went well then it's more than likely you have passed and probably with a high mark. If the exam hadn't gone well or if you hadn't enough ime and rushed things then that's the time to worry.

Things may be a bit hectic at the ICB what with all the exams being done in time to beat "M Day".
