Hi everyone
At the last networking meeting in Leeds, I offered to try and get some editorial in a local listings magazine run by one of my clients, where I could rant on about the marvellousness of bookkeepers,and drum up a bit of business, especially with self assessment deadlines looming. The idea would be to include a half age of editorial that would be ‘paid for’ by 4 people advertising their services on the same page.
The magazine is North Leeds Life – they deliver 30 thousand magazines over 3 areas of Leeds & surrounding areas. You can see more about them here. They are keen to run with the idea providing I write the copy & get some advertising and we’re on a VERY tight deadline! (See below…..)
The deal is this:
A one eighth of a page advert would be £50 + VAT for an advert in one area – this is a discounted rate specially for ICB members! They do a different magazine for each area so that advertisers can hit their target market by location. The areas are broadly:
- Horsforth, Adel, Cookridge, & Bramhope
- Headingley, Meanwood, Weetwood and West Park
- Ilkey, Menston, Burley in Wharfedale, & Otley
The magazines are distributed free door to door, and are available in supermarkets and other retail outlets throughout each area.
In order to make this work, I need to get 3 or 4 people to sign up for each area, or for people to want to advertise in more than one area…. It’s just possible you might get further discounts for advertising in more than one magazine. We might end up just doing it in one area. It rather depends if I get any responses! I realise that some of you are working well away from these areas, but that’s not necessarily a problem when it comes to self assessment clients.
The problem is, that to get into the December Issue and thus hit the people starting to panic about self assessment and give us enough time to get them done (!),North Leeds Life need the advertisers to sign up by FRIDAY THIS WEEK – 4th November! Artwork for the adverts needs to be in by Tuesday 8th. Gulp.
If you are interested and would like to do it please email me straight back or call me and I will set the ball rolling. You don’t need to have artwork prepared but just some wording abou thwat you can do, and maybe a logo, for a business card style advert. The editorial will have lots of info about what we do. If I get some positive response I will look at putting a draft together and email it to those interested for thoughts and comments on inclusions.
