Tax Investigation Insurance

I am assuming that this is some sort of insurance payment that some firms offer - thus it could be shown as professional insurance.


Having said that, and on past experience of the amounts I have seen, usually around £100 or so, I don't think it would make much difference to have it in accountancy, finance charges or professional fees.

Hi Joanne,

I agree with Geoff. This is not insurance so treat it as an accountancy charge as it's the accountant providing the service. This is to cover the accountants fees for the work involved, in the event of a Tax Investigation by HMRC.
