Hi all,

I am new here on ICB forum and have just passed my Level 1 exam, 96% distinction, yay!!

But would like to know what happened to the 4%....i couldn't find any correction on the report, it only says task 9 and 10 of my answers were incorrect, and i really would like to know the correct ones. So is there any way of finding it out??
Not necesarilly be posted on the forum of course:)

Kind regards,

Gina

Wow!
It seems that my question will never get answered here, whats the point of posting a question on here then??#
Is asking a question like that not allowed on here??
I only wanted to know where i can find a full report of my level 1 exams, i.e explaination of the questions i answered incorrectly. Could anyone spare a moment to post back pls.

Many thanks in advance.

I don't think they tell you the correct answers to a live exam - just the questions you got wrong (and marks lost) and what you actually put for that question.

A lot of the information which members ask questions about can be found on the web site -

  Requesting Feedback

If a candidate wishes to receive an examination feedback report they should contact the ICB on 0845 060 2345 to request this.  The fee of £25.00 is payable at this point and can be paid either by credit / debit card or by cheque or postal order made payable to ICB at Victoria House, 64 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NG.

The candidate's examination paper will then be unarchived and reassessed by a qualified examiner who will provide feedback.

Feedback will take the form of feedback on the examination paper and will not be a tutorial on bookkeeping.  If the candidate feels they require further guidence then they will be expected to refer back to their training provider.

BUT -as already stated it is unlikely you will be given specific answers to a live exam

Hi Gina,

How did you get on with requesting feedback about your exam?  Did you go ahead and pay the £25?  Was it useful?

I have just sat my level 3 manual exam and got 99% which I am obviously very happy about but I just can't see where i dropped the 1%!  I have looked at the free report and it tells me which questions were incorrect but I don't know why they were incorrect.

I know 1% isn't going to change my grade but it's really annoying me not knowing why I got a question wrong and I would like some feedback.

Having said that I am finding it hard to justify paying £25 for the sake of 1%!

Has anyone else requested feedback on an exam?  Was it worthwhile?

Cheers
Emma

Hi Emma

I requested feedback on my level 3 computerised but found it of new use and personally wouldn't pay £25 again and I wouldn't for 1% although it would annoy me, not knowing where I lost the marks. The feedback that I received stated that the depreciation values were wrong but no more than that and it didn't give the correct value so you could go back and try and work out the correct answer. I was left feeling very disappointed by it. It was no different from just writing incorrect next to the question number as I didn't learn anything from it and it was certainly not worth £25. Sorry to be so blunt ICB but I feel quite strongly about it. I think if you are going to charge students for feedback then it should at least be thorough so the student can learn from it or at least provide the correct answer. I know in a previous post, it had been suggested to ask the student's training provider but bear in mind, the training provider tutors are very busy and unless they are going to work through the exam paper themselves then they are not going to be able to advise.

Thanks

Hazel

Hi hazel,

Thanks for letting me know how you got on with requesting exam feedback.  From what you say I don't think I'll bother paying the £25 as it seems rather pointless!

Emma
