Sage 50 v12 - dates

I started a new job today, eventully got access to Sage, but unfortunately when trying to enter PI or infact anything that required a date entry, Sage would change the date I'd entered as soon as I tabbed to the next field.

For example, I entered 18Oct11 in a format normally accepted by sage eg ddmmyy or dd/mm/yy and it changed it every time to 18Nov2000.  Didn't matter what date I entered (in 2011) it would keep the days, add one month and take away 11 years.

If I logged out of Sage and out of my username on the PC and logged on as my predecessor and then went into sage using the same logon as I had previously it worked fine.

Any suggestions?

The dates I am trying to enter are within the financial year and as I am using the same Manager logon as my predecessor used there is no obvious reason why it works for one PC user and not another.

Apparently the previous guy had the same problem originally too but found a friend who was very Sage savy and solved the problem.  My predecessor is not contactable.

Any help welcomed as I've 5wks backlog to catch up on and 2 month ends to do asap :o/

Hi

I suspect your computer is st up for the American date.  Check your clock and date settings and keyboard setting in your control panel on your computer.

Hi Sarah

I am not sure what is happening though I do not suspect it is the American date format as 18 Oct 2011 would be enter 18/11/11 which would be see as the 18th month 11 day in 2011 which would be rejected.

MMMM I would suspect a corruption in the user profile when it was set up unless another wierd date system has been used.

Kind regards
Stuart
