Question for Sarah D. Re: Sage

Hi Sarah

Firstly apologies for the title of this topic!  I couldn't find the thread relating to the discussion to do with Sage where you talked about meeting with them Tuesday just gone.

From memory, a few of us were discussing the cost of the Accountants Club amongst other -- you mentioned the deal you have with Sage which made a number of us quite envious Laughing.

My question is, did you ever get an answer as to their pricing (yours vs what we were being quoted)?

Is this perhaps an inappropriate thread to have created?!

Hi

We actually have some really exciting and very good news on this front so I have not forgotton.  As promised I said I would raise the issue with Sage at the conference and I did very loudly on our behalf.

You will have to wait for another week but Sage where so concerned about the points  and prices .  They signed on to read or threads .  They have agreed on the phone with me that our members have been qouted the wrong  prices and that they were incorrect.

Sage rang me on monday and they will be releasing a statement on the Forum wth some great ideas which I have been in private discussions with them for our members  about sorting out the correct prices.

Andy Gibb from sage will also be  speaking to Ami on Monday to release a newsletter re pricing .

Anyway I cannot say to much as Sage are  working through all the complaints and have kept in touch with me everyday since the conference .

But yes watch this space in the next couple of weeks.

Sage in my opinion are now listening to us! I had a call on Monday and they followed it up with an email. Well done Sarah and everyone else who spoke to Sage at the conference.

Sarah can you contact me to see if what I have now been quoted is a fair deal? Certaintly better than what I was quoted at renewal.

Thanks

I am so glad that someone other than me has been quoted very high prices from Sage! I thought I was going mad and imagining it!!!! I look forward to reading what Sage have to say as it is the software we are trained in so it makes sense that is the one you would want to use in practice. Thank you Sarah for taking on this subject on behalf of lots of us newly qualified book-keepers.

This is great news and thank you everyone, Sarah etc, who has worked so hard to get Sage to listen.  Unfortunately I have just renewed my accountants club membership at a cost of £995+vat!!  Hopefully if things do change with the pricing I may be able to get a partial refund!!  Well I can live in hope!

Lol

Hi

I will mention to Andy your case , if you could contact Ami with your details of what you paid.  Also Angie could you do the same as I am trying to put a picture together for andy.   Angie I will let you know what I think of your price.

Ami will know what it is about.

Sarah

While you've been talking to Sage, did they offer any explanation why ICB's members where being offered such varied prices? I'd be curious to know if Sage sales staff are trained / encouraged to point ICB members to the the Accountants club?

I'd like to add my thanks for the work you've put into this.

Hi Tony

Yes they did .  Andy Gibb is investigating as to why our members where not given the right package .  They are at present setting up a system for the ICB and are making efforts.

They will be releasing a statement on this forum and a news item in the next couple of weeks.  Sorry to be vague but Andy is going through case by case and I am still in the middle of discussions.

I've been searching the forum to see if there has been any more on this as I may need to invest in Sage for a potential client I am meeting this week. If there is a another thread on this would someone be able to point me to it as I've not been able to find anything else.

Thanks

I am also interested, I have been keeping an eye on the forum and the website, also Sage website nd carried out searches on Sage site under ICB.

I have been quoted £695 exc. V.A.T. for Client Manager only, no mention of anyother sfotware or other items as part of the deal.  I believe someone else on here was quoted about the same amount but they also got a copy of Sage 50 Accounts 2012 and something else.

I contacted Ami but have not heard anything back yet, but it was only yesterday.
