Hope it's ok to ask this here....

To support my course I am working through the Woods book 12.  I have been working on the questions in section 1 and it asks you to fill in the gaps of the following.  This is a question that has the answers in the back of the book so I am not giving anything away I hope.

   Asset            Liability              Capital
a) 20000           3400                 ??
b) 23000           8800                 ??
c) 19200           ??                     3200
d) 8100            ??                      6500
e) ??                7900                  17300
f)  ??               18500                 51900

so... I worked through them, moved my equation around so I could work out the others and got my answers.  Checked my workings using the original equation, my answers were right.

I checked the answers in the back and they say I got e and f wrong.  I've checked my workings with 2 other people and they agree with me.  I can't even see how they got that answer.  I used Capital+Liabilities=Assets

What do I do?  This is the first question in the book!!! There are going to be hundreds of students out there that are going to be confused by this!!!

a) 16,600
b) 14,200
c) 16,000
d) 1,600
e) 25,200
f)  70,400

What's the answers in the back of the book?
I have edition 11 and that uses different figures.

How did you get your answer for f?

The answers I calculated were
a) 16600
b) 14200
c) 16000
d) 1600
e) 25200
f) 53750

But in the book they give the answers for e & f as
e) 27100
f) 70400

You and I came to the same on e but differ on f.. which is very odd.

Interestingly I have just found a typo in question 2.2 as well.  It's not drastic as it is a supplier's name... but it IS still a typo.

It also says this book was published in 2012!!!!!!  How am I supposed to trust this book??  It's almost laughable!

For f) I have Assets = Liabilities + Capital
18,500 + 51,900
= 70,400

Aaaaah, right, I see where I went wrong with F then, missed a zero off.  But, that doesn't solve the puzzle with e)
