Marketing with yell.com

Hi,

Does anyone know if ICB have a discount with Yell.com? I know there is a discount for the Yellow Pages but wondered if the same was agreed for yell.com.

I don't know if the ICB has any kind of deal with them, but I would only advise very strongly NOT to waste your money with Yell. I placed an ad with them for a year at considerable expense and got ONE serious client query from the ad. Everyone else was either looking for a job or trying to sell me stuff.

I would echo the last comment.  If you are seriously thinking about Yell, take your money outside and put it down a drain, you'll get a similar ROI. 

Yells sales staff are great, they could sell ice to eskimos, but I've yet to meet anyone who either reaches for yellow pages or uses Yell.com when they are looking for something, most just google it or ask friends.

Have to agree, but I got a good laugh today!  They rang about my free listing and trying to convince me to upgrade....as my free listing was doing so well.  Strange that, as when I search for my free listing on Yell nothing comes up!! Surprised  Still waiting for him to call me back to explain why that is! Laughing  Not that I have any intention of upgrading the advert.

What's about thomsonlocal.com. is that effective? I got a call from them and they were  trying to conveince me to go for a 1 year package.

Thanks everyone, your replies made me laugh. It is good to hear your feedback as I may well have been fooled by their sales talk.

I have placed some adverts in local parish type newsletters/magazines so will see what response they get. I'm new to the area but in my last area they seemed to work well and not expensive at all.
