Once again grovelling apologies for not sorting this out sooner. Our next meeting of the Leeds Clan is set to be on Thursday 12th Jan - really short notice for those not in the know I'm afraid. I really must get my act sorted out....
We will be meeting at 3pm til 5pm and this time will try our luck at the Scene Bar at the Park Plaza Hotel, right opposite the station in Central Leeds. (There have been regional ICB CPD events there before)
If you want to come along please let me know by signing up when the event gets posted on the main site, or by contacting me direct as its not that long to go!
Newbies - come prepared for nothing on the agenda except whatever you want or need to discuss! We are a very informal group mainly geared towards mutual support - don't expect anything fancy but do expect sparkling wit and repartee! :-/

URGENT!!!
Because of the take up on todays meeting I have had to make a last minute call to move venue! We will now meet at the Queens Hotel Bar which is diagonally opposite the original venue at the rear of the station concourse. Still 3pm - 5pm but there is much more space there and we might just all be able to fit!

AArgh - I've been on holiday this week, and I've only just seen this event and thread. Having been to the January meeting and said that I would be at the March meeting I'm very frustrated that I can't now book on this event as it is sold out.
Can't we find a different venue Alex???

I'm really sorry about this. I booked this venue in good faith because we rarely get more than 10 people signing up, but it has snowballed somewhat and sold out very quickly. It is very hard to find a free venue in Leeds, and people have booked on to this on the understanding that their £5 goes towards refreshments at this venue, not room hire, so I don't really feel I can change it at this stage without going through a complex process of refunds, checking everyone is happy etc and potentially putting the price up. To meet with more than 10 people in a public space is not very easy or practical either - we really need to find a dedicated space that we can afford, but so far I have come up with nothing bigger than this venue at Starbucks. If anyone else can find somewhere then I am very happy to look at it.
On 28th Feb I am going to a meeting for all regional chairs where we can try and iron out some of the issues around venues/ charges etc so hopefully the meeting after this may well be on a better footing.
In the meantime, I'm really sorry you can't book on, and I take on board your frustration. Believe me, it is frustrating at this end too.

Hi all
It seems that we still have 5 spaces left for tomorrows meeting (8th March) (thanks Starbucks for telling me the wrong number to start with!) so if you can now make it please do come along!
After this meeting the meetings are going to be taking a slightly different format, with some technical lectures and 'breaking news' slots at each meeting as well as informal Q&A and networking.
If you can't make the meeting I would be very interested to hear ideas of what you would like your meetings to be, so please either leave messages here or email me direct through my website. It looks like we are going to be able to use the offices of a Leeds based accountant who is keen to help us in any way they can, particularly good as they have acess to a wide range of specialists both inside accountancy and other profession such as marketing, legal advice etc.
Also, we are looking to appoint branch chairman across the region - notably North, South & East Yorkshire and HUmberside. If you or anyone you know within ICB might be interested in running meetings more local to you, please let me know and I will tell you/ them a little more about what's involved.
