Sage software choice

I've been looking on the Sage website at the various accountant's club offerings, but am confused. I plan to phone soon for more information. Meanwhile does anyone know what I should be looking at:

I want to be able to set up accounts for a small number of companies, both instant and line 50, don't currently need payroll (may do in the future), and would like to be able to share data with any companies who have their own copies of Sage and want to keep this up to date.

The Accountant's club seems to be focused on support and mentions a single user, single company version of line 50..... perhaps I am missing something, but at the moment I can't see the point on paying for it....

thanks

Hi Jude,

I suspect a lot of bookkeepers find SAGE too expensive. Especially if you may want payroll later.

There are lots of alternatives. Probably best to look at previous articles on the forum about the other options.

You may need an accounts package which allows multiple companies.

Personally - I have found Solar Accounts suitable for my needs. Other bookkeepers have other preferences. Such as Quick Books, Business Accountz, VT+, Xero, Clear books, Money Manager etc. etc. There are lots of packages out there.

Payroll has less packages. but there are suitable alternatives to SAGE.

Regards,

Michael.

Hi Jude

You should refer to a previous thread by Sarah Douglas who has been working with Sage on a pricing structure for ICB members. Not sure off the top of my head where you'll find it on the forum but it was around November/December time.

Have you tried the Cornerstone website? They offer Sage products at reduced prices. Perhap's what your looking for is Sage 50 Accounts Client Manager 2012 for up to 5 companies. It is not just a dataset and includes Accounts 50  You should be offered payroll 50 FOC, I did.
Best regards
Tim

Can you provide that actual web address, when I enter cornerstone in the search engine, I get up a charity for learning disable people, then verious other definitions, none for software.

Thanks for the tip Timm. I'm aware that Sarah D is looking into pricing for ICB members, but I have a meeting with a potential client who wants Sage as their accounts are already on Sage.

Hi Sarah,
If as you say your client has Sage already then have a look at Sage 1 Accounts Edition. For between £1 a to £10 per month your client can link you to their software. I don't know much about Accounts Edition but have a look at Sage website. Click the link at the top of the home page for accountants.
Best Regards
