Sage 50 Client Manager

My prospective client who uses Sage line 50 has now accepted and I'm wondering whether I need to get Sage 50 Client Manager, can anyone help with the following Q's:

1.  With Sage 50, can I take a data copy and send it to my client by email each month so that he can update his copy of Sage? This is what he says he gets from the current accountants. He does not enter anything in his copy, so not merging data, just updating his copy as he likes to have his numbers to hand, check his debtors etc.

2. Is Sage 50 Client manager an annual fee or a one off cost? I don't seem to be able to find it from any of the resellers.

3. How does Client Manager work, I'm not sure how the Accountant link functions. It would be one way data, from me to him as he doesn't enter anything, I will collect the paperwork and enter it on my copy for him.

4. I'm used to Sage Instant, is there a lot of difference between Instant and Line 50?

If anyone could help with this it would appreciated. I'm thinking  that although Client manager is more expensive, as Sage 50 is only single user, 25 client version of client manger might be a better investment and help with gaining new clients.

thank you

Hi 1. Yes.......instead of email you could use a cloud service such as "Dropbox" (free to a certain level) to access files from any computer and share file with client. 2. CM is an annual fee over £400 ...... I pay £43 per month 3. Not sure - don't use it. 4. No I have subscribed to CM for several years...... Very useful Ken

If you are interested in Dropbox send me an email and I will invite you to it. They have a system whereby accepted invites get you extra capacity. K.bell@talk21.com Have you attended any of our branch meetings where members can network and share this sort of information? Ken

Thanks for the info Ken, I've already got Dropbox (not used it myself but my husband does), so that's a good idea.

I'm also wondering if I might have a compatability problem if the client has an older version of Sage 50, so I think I need to find out what version he has. I have a feeling he will want to upgrade his Sage rather that switch to another service, so I don't think persuading him to use anything else will be an option.
