Well done on the chance to quote for your first job. The biggest problem I had when I took on the first few clients is that I was really underpricing myself. The problem is when your doing a job for very little you can become resentful of the client. I would quote this company £2 per pay slip if they approached me, detailing that all returns were included in this price. For payroll there are pretty standard prices out there. Google "Payroll Prices".
With regards to the software I'd keep the costs as low as possible. Have a look at 12pay.co.uk they offer a free version of their software for up to 3 companies with up to 30 employees each.
