I am doing a survey on accounts production software to see what everyone else is using, if any, I know Tax Calc have a new one with IXBRL format for company accounts, sage have a simple one, and Digita have their own to link with their tax return software. Most of you are probably just using the bookkeeping software and printing off the trial balance, P&L, and balance sheet. It should be interesting to see the general consensus

Hi LBS

This is not something I have given much attention to as it is outside the scope of the ICB.

As we have to get an accountant to file accounts for limited companies i just givethem a TB and working papers and they use their software.

I have worked in an accounts practice and used two systems Sage FAP and Caseware.

Kind regards
Stuart

I was previously using Sage AP, but found it more complex than I actually required.  I have recently switched to Tax Calc and find it is perfect for my needs, subject to them adding the facility to be able to print accounts without a Balance Sheet.  I also use their tax software for tax returns and once again, no complaints and they link together.  I use Sage for bookkeeping and payroll though and haven't found anything to beat that yet.

I've used Andica for a couple of self assessments, when the clients came to me too close to the deadline to be be able to set up as their agent in time.

It was basic but did the job and was the cheapest option I found. I'd use it again in a similar situation. But I generally use the HMRC free software.

In my past life I used Iris Accounts Production and Business Tax.

All the professional firms I worked for used this software, Full IXBRL. I thought this software was great and easy to use, but I did use it for 16 years plus. Its a shame they can not replicate it and give us a decent bookkeeping software package. Ho Hum!!

I have always used Iris for bookkeeping, accounts, tax and payroll. Well worth the subscription in my eyes!
