Use of ICB heraldic crest

Hi, I've just become a member and wondered if I can use the ICB crest on my business cards and on statonery, promotional material and website. Also, do I need a practise license if I am self-employed but go to clients' premises to do the work? I appreciate any advice on this. Thanks. Sue

Hello Sue

Congratulations on becoming a member.

You must have a Practice Licence if you carry bookkeeping of any kind for anyone unless you are an employee of that company. It is your employment status that counts not the location the work is carried out.

In terms of using the Logo you can use the ICB crest on your statioery I know at one time they had to approve the stationery layout I am not sure if this is still the case.

Kind regards
Stuart

I was under the impression that you could only use the crest if you had a current practice licence, and - if using the crest - you had to have your practice number directly underneath it.  The crest itself is safely tucked away in the Practice Licence area on the website.

Could someone from ICB clarify this, just so we aren't giving incorrect information.

This is correct.  I recently applied for my practice licence and was not able to use the crest until I received the licence.  Also, all stationery does need to be approved once the crest has been added.

Kind regards
