Hi there,

For some reason every time I try to log on to Sage I get an error message telling me that 'Username is in use - the program cannot connect you at this time'  Does anyone know why this has happened and how to get around it?

I am using Windows Vista and Sage Instant Accounts version 16.00 if that helps.

Look forward to hearing from somebody!!

Hi I have had this error in the past I expect you never closed Sage probable. There is a file that need to be deleted. Do you have Sage support as I am not sure what file i think it begins with Q. If you don't have support let me know and I will ask Sage for you.

Hi Phil,

You'll need to locate your Sage programe files, which are probably in your (C:)drive Programe Data folder (depending which version of windows you are using.
Then find your Sage folder - Accounts folder - Accdata folder.
Scroll down to the QUEUE.DTA file and right click over it and delete.

This should resolve your problem.

Good luck

Hi Phil

The answer above is what you need to do.

The main reason for this happening  is becasue Users are not shutting down correctly and are using the red X box top right hand corner to close which is incorrect  .

In order to shut down correctly you should go to File and Log off and come out of the package.

Thanks everybody, everything is fine again!

I will log off correctly now, especially after the slap on the wrist from Sarah! :-)
