Payroll diploma without training provider

Heya!

As per my previous post, I'd like to start studying towards my diploma in payroll!

I've looked around online and courses are upwards from £400 through a learning provider. I managed to pass level 3 manual without the use of a training provider and through studying from a variety of books!

I'm just curious what resources people used who passed their diploma in payroll without using a training provider? I saw in another post people reccomending the sage courses, does this have enough information in it to cover the manual side of things or is it strictly computerised info? What books did you study from? I work better from books than I do from computers! x

Hi Kara,

I bought the Sage self-study workbooks from Amazon...cost just over £30 I think...you get a 180 day trial of Sage Instant payroll and about 6/7 workbooks.  I would say it covers manual payroll pretty well although not sure whether it will be enough if you haven't done any payroll at all and don't have a clue about it.

I also downloaded all the helpbooks from HMRC website that were relevant.  I did post a list of them in a post on here a little while ago but cannot find it now!
