Hi I;m really hopeing someone can help

I have a client running Sage Instant version 14. They have always run their financial year to end of February but now want to make it end of March. I was hoping to change year end date after running the year end process but it remains 'greyed out'. anyone know how to get round this?

Hi Ruth,

I don't think you can change the financial year start date in Sage Instants.  Once you have entered transactions this date is fixed.

You can send the data to Sage to get it changed, but this will probably cost quite a bit knowing Sage, or you can nip on over to the Sage forum www.sageforum.co.uk where under the Services Available section you should be able to find a Sage developer who can do the job for you at a fraction of the cost.  I think you will have to register before you can see the Services Available section, but this doesn't cost anything!  :-)

Sage Instant does not give you the facility to change your year end date.  It can be done on Sage 50, so if you can find someone who has a copy of Sage 50 which is the same version as your Sage instant they could do it for you.  Failing that it's a case of sending the data to Sage to be fixed which of course will cost you.

Hi Ruths


I have an older version 14 of Sage50 Accounts and could probably re-install it and do this excercise for you.  However, for it to work properly my version has to be exactly the same or older than the one your client is using.


If you email me the EXACT version of the instant package I will be able to tell you whether or not I can do this for you.


In Sage Instant, click on [Help] and then [About] and email me the exact version number which appears on this screen...  it's likely to be something like 14.011.016  or similar.
