Registering Directors of an LTD each year

Hi,

Do Accountants have to register Directors with Companies House or is this something the Directors can do themselves ( I am assuming it s CompaniesHouse that they need registering with)? If so how?

Thanks

This is very much something for the directors to do themselves in accordance with the provisions of Company Law. The directors should already be registered at Companies House if the company was set up with them as original directors. If changing directors, then this needs to be done via the appropriate company resolution and filing at Companies House (forms available online). I’d advise accountants not to meddle.

Thanks for the clarification Danya.

It is more to do with the yearly update (obviously the directors are already registered with Companies House), and my friend's accountant charges him to complete the form yearly, to which I advised him that he could do it himself, but I needed to double check to ensure I was correct!

Thanks again

My thoughts exactly.

Yes, I believe it is the annual return.

Thanks again

My accountant includes any filing with her standard fees. This may be something that he/she is not paying for per say, might be included in what the accountant offers.  Just a thought.

No, he pays a specific amount of money for that one particular service, hence why he asked me! Other services are charged separately!
