The topic for the July Hampstead Branch Meeting will be "Practicalities of Bookkeeping".

I will be giving this talk myself and it will include, among others, topics such as:
 
1. Taking over a set of books from another bookkeeper
2. How to organise a shoebox full of receipts
3. Filing systems and what source documents to keep

This talk is aimed particularly at students or members with little or no practical bookkeeping experience, of course even the most experienced members are welcome!

Hi,

I'll be coming.  I wouldn't normally be able to make a daytime session but I'm off work that week.

Do you need a certain amount of people attending for it to go ahead, or will it go ahead regardless?

...I've just tried to book this online through the shop, but I just got a message saying I don't have the necessary membership to do this. I was logged in and everything so is there a problem with the site?

I tried to book on line, however I see a message that the West Hampstead July meeting is sold out and it doesn't allow me to book a place.

Is it really sold out or is this a website technical problem?

I'm afraid it is sold out as I had booked the venue for less people, based on last month's turn out.

However, apparently this is a very popular topic, if there is enough call for it then I can always do the talk again.

I would definately be interested in attending another day as I also tried to book and got the "SOLD OUT" message.  The time during the day suits me perfectly also.

If you get any cancellations today please let me know as I could attend fairly last minute.

Thank you to everyone who attended today we had quite a big turnout! Handouts should be emailed in the next couple of days.


Also, it was brought to my attention that someone left behind a beaded bracelet in the venue, if you have lost a bracelet could you please contact me at the below email address?

Thanks for all your efforts Meena - it was informative and good to get a picture of the different scenarios we are likely to come up against out there in the 'real world'.  It was also nice to meet everyone, and the handouts will be useful too.
