Hi

I recommend that you call the ICB & actually talk to someone about this. It is better to get the information directly from them than rely on whatever we say on the forum! They are a very helpful bunch!

Best wishes

Hopefully Tim gets to read this - though I can't see his original post - for obvious reasons :)

Talk to the ICB - I would imagine it would depend on the type of conviction and the expiry date of the requirement to reveal or what ever it is called.

I wish you luck finding new employment after making a life changing mistake.  My brother was in the same boat many years ago and is now doing fine.  The future is there for you to find and oportunities will present themselves as people get to know you and not the 'paper work'.

You can and will turn things around - well done for being brave enough to try!

Hi Theresa,

Thanks for your kind words! After doing a bit of research I've discovered that my past convictions are now "spent" as it's been over 5 years which is in accordance to The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

Then you have no problem.. I suggest we get a mod to remove this thread - you change and/or delete this name and rejoin us under a new name - there will be no reason for anyone to connect your new name to this conversation and you can hopefully start as countless others have done, with no one having any preconceived ideas as to who you are or what you might have done.

It is time for that clean sheet and new start - this is the oportunity - grasp it :)
